MLB: After injury: Boston improves squad after injury
The Boston Red Sox have made a pitcher swap in the squad for the American League Division Series against the New York Yankees. Steven Wright had to leave injured, but Heath Hembree took the place.
Wright, who was plagued with a knee injury for a long time, felt pain in his knee again after training. With the approval of the league, he was removed from the squad after a thorough investigation.
Magnetic resonance imaging revealed inflammation and bone splinters in the left knee, as the team announced.
Hembree, who was disappointed by his disregard for the original Postseason squad, went straight to work and pitched the seventh and eighth inning in Game 2 against the Yankees (6:2 New York). He didn’t make a hit, but he did three walks on a strikeout.
