NBA: Media: Butler-Trade close to completion

The trade talks between the Miami Heat and Minnesota Timberwolves around Jimmy Butler were apparently nearing completion this weekend. But the deal failed at the last second.

Adrian Wojnarowski reports this. Ligain internal sources have apparently told the ESPN reporter that the Timberwolves has even passed medical information about the Shooting Guard to Miami, which is the typical last step before a trade is concluded.

But apparently Minnesota wanted to change the deal once more, but the Heat didn’t let themselves in for it. According to Woj, the talks were then broken off on Saturday.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald also reports that the Timberwolves continue to charge far too high a price. According to his sources within the Heat organization, the Timberwolves had set extremely high standards and demanded the “firstborn of all our children”.

Miami was apparently even willing to integrate Josh Richardson into a deal for the four-time All-Star. However, according to Jackson, the Timberwolves have an eye on several of the heat talents around Richardson, Bam Adebayo or Justise Winslow.

According to Wojnarowski, however, the possibility that the trade talks between the Heat and Timberwolves could be resumed could not be ruled out. However, a complete reset of the negotiations would probably be necessary for this.

Due to the high demands of the Timberwolves, some teams who are basically interested in a trade for Butler have probably already been deterred. Apparently, apart from Miami, there have been no serious trade talks with other teams in recent days.
