NFL: Cruciate ligament rupture: out of season for Eagles-RB Ajayi

The Philadelphia Eagles have to do without Running Back Jay Ajayi for the rest of the season. The 25-year-old broke his cruciate ligament on Sunday in the team’s 21-23 defeat to Minnesota Vikings.

At first it was unclear why Super Bowl champion Ajayi had put on the injured reserve list on Monday. Then NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported the severity of the injury. It is not known when Ajayi suffered the injury exactly in the match against the Vikings, but he missed a few snaps due to pain during the match.
