MLB: NY star undergoes Tommy John Surgery
Published on
Didi Gregorios will undergo the Tommy John Surgery, which will probably be a severe setback for the New York Yankees for the 2019 season.
Yankee manager Aaron Boone said the shortstop injury probably occurred in the ALDS game against the Boston Redsocks. “There is a real chance that he will play most of the season (2019, editor’s note),” Boone added.
General Manager Brian Cashman did not want to give a precise timetable for Gregorius’ return. “It’s best we stay general,” Cashman said. “I don’t want to say June, July or August.”
The GM added that they would probably know more after the procedure and would also influence how they will try to replace Gregorius.
