NFL: 43:40! Pats win sensational exchange of blows!

The New England Patriots have delivered themselves in the Sunday Night Game an outstanding exchange of blows with the previously undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. The Pats won in a completely crazy second half with 43:40 and were offensive hardly to get under control. Patrick Mahomes recovered from some mistakes in the second run and also showed on the big stage that the Second-Year quarterback is a special one.

It was the big duel in Week 6. Tom Brady versus Patrick Mahomes. The duel of the generations and the question whether Bill Belichick also has enough answers for the young super talent and the high-power openness of the Chiefs. He had it all! The Chiefs moved down the field well and played in the wide field their accustomed movement rich Offense. Then, however, the Patriots showed an unpleasant look for a young quarterback and what happens too often against Belichick Defenses and always comes at the end to be expensive occurred: They had to be content with field goals.

New England, on the other hand, was once again ideally prepared and knew exactly where they could hurt the Chiefs Defense the most. It was one of the rare games in which the Pats ran more often than they threw passports. New England was enormously effective, marching down the field and also managed to pull the enemy into the centre and isolate Josh Gordon on the outer lane.

The Pats machine seemed to run away after two Chiefs turnsovers with the encounter and the result when one of the special Patrick Mahomes moments occurred. The rookie escaped the so far reliable Pass Rush and found Kareem Hunt on a wheel route with a perfect pass out of the run for a score over 67 yards. When Brady made a bad decision, held the ball too long despite good protection, fumbled and the Chiefs celebrated two Tyreek Hill touchdowns after a 97-yard kickoff return and in the following drive, the game was suddenly rung in Kansas City’s hands and madness.

Brady had to deliver with his back to the wall and of course he should not disappoint. In the end he resorted to the most unusual way and jumped into the end zone himself after an inexplicably missed sack of Chiefs. Another Field Goal of the Pats put Mahomes under pressure again. It took a touchdown to balance the game with less than four minutes on the clock. Mahomes recognized a Duron Harmon coverage flaw on the first play and Speedster Hill was up and running for Touchdown number three! Tied Game!

In the final drive, Brady relied on Rob Gronkowski and Chris Hogan, who had rarely appeared before. The Chiefs-Defense did not have any answers and above all no more timeouts. A field goal by Steven Gostkowski put an end to the crazy game. A game in which two absolute favourites of the AFC met each other and hopefully not the last time they met this season. More of it!

In spite of a heavy drop-out Brady was once again the conductor of a wonderful offense. He usually made the right decisions, made the right pre-snap adjustments to eliminate the lightning, and even crowned his performance with a rare rushing touchdown. If the maestro only makes a bad mistake in such a game at the age of 41 and otherwise orchestrates his offense so confidently, then the Pats will gladly accept the increasing age and hold on to Brady for years to come.

In a generally too fragile defense, especially in the run game, Speaks made a crucial mistake late in the game. The rookie already had the bag against Brady in the fourth quarter of Third and Goal, but let the 41-year-old go again. Opponents of the recent interpretation of the Roughing-the-Passer-Penalty will have already found an explanation here. Nevertheless, Brady must be prevented here on the bottom of the trousers and the touchdown. Speaks said after the game that he thought Brady had already got rid of the ball.
