NHL: Record! Draisaitl team mate shines for Oilers

Leon Draisaitls storm colleague Connor McDavid set a record in the NHL on Tuesday evening. The 21-year-old’s participation in the first four goals of the Edmonton Oilers’ 5-4 win at the Winnipeg Jets has helped him expand his Scorer Series.

McDavid was involved in Canada’s first nine goals of the season, scoring four goals and five assists. The old NHL record was held by Adam Oates, who scored seven points in a row for the Detroit Red Wings at the beginning of the 1986/87 season.

Germany’s top star Draisaitl was also instrumental in the Oilers’ second win of the season in the sixth game. The Cologne player scored the two goals of McDavid and has five scorer points (1 goal/4 assists) on his account.

The captain is well on his way to becoming the season’s top scorer for the third time in a row. In the last two seasons he had secured the Art Ross Trophy with 100 points (2016/17) and 108 points (2017/18) respectively. He was the second youngest player after the legendary Wayne Gretzky.
