NBA: Wagner debut for Lakers draws closer
Moritz Wagner approaches his debut for the Los Angeles Lakers. The German Big participates again in the team training. Coach Luke Walton, however, did not yet want to give a forecast as to when the rookie will play again.
“He is approaching and has taken part in the entire training today,” Lakers Coach reported to the media after that very unit. “He was a regular in the five-gee-five, and we looked closely. We’ll see how he feels tomorrow.”
Wagner had injured himself in the Summer League in July and therefore missed the complete preparation of the Lakers. As the Lakers announced, the German will not be used in the night on Sunday against the Houston Rockets (from 4.30 live on DAZN) in any case.
The German center was pulled to position 25 by the Lakers in the draft after reaching the NCAA final with the Michigan Wolverines and convincing with strong performances. The team around LeBron James is very thin on the five in particular, which is why Wagner could quickly earn minutes when he is finally fit.
