NFL: Arizona Cardinals have fired Sam Bradford
The Arizona Cardinals have separated from quarterback Sam Bradford. The former First-Overall-Pick had not been used in the desert since Week 3.
Arizona secured Bradford at the Free Agency and provided him with a one-year contract for $20 million and an option for another year. The 30-year-old should serve as a transition playcaller and mentor for Josh Rosen.
In one of the weakest offenses of the league, Bradford was put on the bench late in the game by head coach Steve Wilks against the Chicago Bears in Week 3. Bradford didn’t play since.
But the Cardinals also saved a lot of money in the process. Bradford had been listed as inactive for a few weeks and therefore did not receive any bonuses that could have reached $5 million if Bradford had been on all games.
Bradford threw for 400 yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in his three bets. The veteran could be an interesting option for teams with quarterback problems.
