NBA: Theis comeback next week?
For the sixth time in a row Daniel Theis had to watch the game of his Boston Celtics against the Utah Jazz. Apparently, however, the injured foot is making progress and a comeback should soon be possible.
Theis suffers from plantar fasciitis in his right foot, an injury that has paralyzed him for about two weeks and for which the team has not defined a proper duration of absence. However, it seems to be going uphill.
As Theis himself told NBC Sports Boston, he has set his sights on a return next week. Already on Friday he could do a workout with throwing and running exercises. “I want to be ready for the next home game,” said Theis – Boston will host the Bulls (Wednesday), Raptors (Friday) and Jazz (Saturday) next week.
Theis grinned about the course of his rehab: “I’ve seen enough basketball now. I’m ready to play myself again. I don’t feel like watching others anymore.”
The German two-year professional had run up in five games of the season for the Celtics and had played 6 points and 3.4 rebounds before he injured his foot in the game against the Pistons, his best of the season (17 points). The Celtics stand after the defeat against the Utah Jazz in the night on Saturday at 7 victories and 5 defeats.
