NBA: Strong adhesive! Mavs win for the first time since March in a foreign country
The Dallas Mavericks have once again won in a foreign country after eleven away defeats in a row. At the Chicago Bulls, coach Rick Carlisle’s squad won 103:98. The well-placed Maxi Kleber also played a major role in this.
That was very hard food, which both teams offered at the beginning to the spectators in the United Center. Brick after brick clapped on the ring, it was already symptomatic, when Rookie Chandler Hutchison set a wide open Dunk likewise only on the iron. Dallas caught a bit towards the end of the quarter and finished the section with a 15:3 run (25:20).
It was the Bank of Mavs that took control of the game and Maxi Kleber had a big part in it. The German Big sunk his first three throws (also a threesome) and also blocked Jabari Parker at the Jumper. The advantage increased to 14 points, but the Bulls starters breathed life back into the hosts.
Mavs coach Rick Carlisle did not agree at all with his team in this phase, especially the performance of Dennis Smith Jr. (0, 0/4 FG in the first half) could not please the master coach of 2011, which is why the strong J.J. Barea (14 points, 5 assists) came back on the court instead. Dallas stabilized again and went into the cabins with a 56:49 lead.
The first minutes after the change, however, belonged mainly to Zach LaVine, who scored six of the first eight Bulls points and presented a spectacular Windmill Dunk in Transition. But then the Mavs caught up again, but Chicago was back in the game, because Jabari Parker finally got some points on the scoreboard.
Dallas took the lead in the fourth quarter, but did not make a decisive break, even though DSJ (11, 5/12 FG at the end) made better decisions. It was Luka Doncic (11, 3/12 FG), who also remained pale before, who extended the lead of the Mavs back to 8 points with a deep triumph three minutes before the end.
Dallas finally rocked the game home, even if it ended up with more than enough trembling. Two free-throw shots from Doncic finally made the first away win since March (103:97 in Sacramento, then 11 defeats) perfect.
Best scorer of the Mavs was Harrison Barnes with 21 points, in addition five other players came on a two-digit yield, among them also the really well put on Kleber (10, 4/4 FG, 2 Rebounds, 1 Assist, 2 Blocks). At Chicago, LaVine (26, 8/23 FG) could only make his mark on the game to a limited extent, Parker scored 16 points.
After winning the Oklahoma City Thunder, Dallas kept his opponent below 100 points for the second time in a row, and Utah now awaits Thursday night. For Chicago, on the other hand, it’s a big deal, the next opponents are Boston, Milwaukee and Toronto.
