NBA: Coach Joerger before the end of the Kings?
Between the front office of the Sacramento Kings and head coach Dave Joerger there seems to be some disagreement. According to a media report, the 44-year-old could even be dismissed soon.
As Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports claims to have learned, the differences between coach Joerger and Kings are based on different ideas and the direction the franchise wants to take.
Obviously the front office is frustrated about how Joerger distributes the roles and play time in the team. This means that the young talents, whose development is to be the focus of the Front Office, do not get their chance enough.
The responsible persons obviously see the 2018/19 season as a kind of development year for the young players like De’Aaron Fox or Nr.2-Pick Marvin Bagley III. But Joerger has so far preferred the veterans in the team especially in Crunch Time, with the goal of winning as many games as possible.
Contrary to the expectations of the front office, coach Joerger has so far refrained from ordering Bagley into the Starting Five. Also the short playing time of Skal Labissiere (5.6 minutes per game) or Harry Giles (10) is allegedly a thorn in the side of those responsible.
Despite the surprisingly strong start to the season for the Kings, Dave Joerger’s term in office could soon come to an end, according to the report.
