NBA: G-League: Bonga must go down injured at Lakers defeat
The South Bay Lakers lost the duel against the Agua Caliente Clippers by 120:125, but the decision was made in overtime. Isaac Bonga hadn’t been in the game for a long time.
The German No.38-Pick started again for his team, but turned around towards the end of the first quarter and was not used after that. The team described the injury as a compression of the left ankle, whether Bonga has to pause longer was not yet announced.
Bonga therefore only played for nine minutes in the match, scoring 2 points, 1 rebound and 1 assist (1/4 FG). Previously, he had played an average of 17 points and 5.4 rebounds in seven games for the Lakers.
In his absence Joel Berry II (26 points), Scott Machado (22, 11 assists), Johnathan Williams (21, 10 rebounds) and Jemerrio Jones (16 and 16) were the most conspicuous Lakers against the rival Clippers. The man of the game was Johnathan Motley with 35 points and 11 rebounds.
