Ice hockey: Top scorer Kolarik extends at Adler Mannheim

The Adler Mannheim from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) have extended the expiring contract with their top scorer Chad Kolarik (32). The striker, in the US squad for the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, will remain with the club until 2019. Kolarik currently has 44 points (22 goals/22 submissions) in his account.

Youngster Phil Hungerecker, the eagle’s second best scorer with 17 goals, was tied for another season. The 23-year-old and the club, by mutual agreement, opted to extend the contract until 2020.

The former Adler goalkeeper Youri Ziffzer will assume the position of team leader for the 2018/19 season. The 31-year-old will primarily act as a link between the future coach Pavel Gross, manager, management and team. In 2015, with Mannheim, Ziffzer became the German champion.
