NHL: Veteran Boyle suffers from leukemia

Striker Brian Boyle of the NHL’s New Jersey Devils is suffering from leukaemia.This was announced by the 32-year-old American’s new club.The diagnosis was made during a blood test as part of the medical check-up at the training camp.

“We have a good plan to fight the disease and I’m looking forward to playing again,”said Boyle, who joined the NHL in 2007 for Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers, Tampa Bay Lightning and Toronto Maple Leafs.In 624 games, the center scored 169 points (93 goals, 76 submissions).

Boyle’s optimistic.His father Artie had been diagnosed with kidney cancer in 1999, which spread into his lungs.A week after a visit to Medjugorje in Bosnia and Herzegovina, there was no evidence of cancer any more:”Prayers can move mountains.I am delighted with every support,”said Brian Boyle.The striker had to leave the country on 1.The agreement was signed with the Devils for two years on July 1,2007.
