MLB: Media: Mets Managers on the verge of a career end

Do the New York Mets need a new manager soon?According to a media report, the franchise assumes that Terry Collins will end his career after this season.The General Manager’s contract has also expired.

The Daily News reports that team-minded sources assume that the 68-year-old Collins will leave his post and end his career after seven years in Flushing/New York.However, Collins, whose contract expires in the winter, recently said that he has not yet made a decision about his future.

GM Sandy Alderson’s contract will also expire after the World Series, but he is expected to stay.Alderson himself, however, was still cautious:”We’ll talk about it after the season.Not now,”as Alderson explained after the Miami bankruptcy on Wednesday.

The Mets haven’t negotiated with Collins yet.As far as a possible successor is concerned, however, the organization prefers a “modern” type that is familiar with analytics and sabermetrics.

The Daily News speculates that Bob Geren, former manager of Oakland A’s and Mets Bench Coach, could be a hot candidate.Since this season, Geren has been working as the Los Angeles Dodgers’ benchmark coach.
