MLB: Bryce Harper’s comeback postponed after influenza infection

Bryce Harper must continue to wait for his comeback for the Washington Nationals. The outfielder has recovered from a knee injury, but an influenza infection continues to knock him out.

Actually, Harper should have returned from DL on Monday to the start of the series at the Philadelphia Phillies. His knee injury suffered in August was cured. But now a flu-like infection thwarted his plans.

“He’s okay,”said manager Dusty Baker:”He woke up this morning with flu-like symptoms, but we give him fluid and try to get him well. That delays his mission in the field. We’ll look into it tomorrow and then we’ll decide what to do next.”

Baker further revealed:”He was here early in the ball park to see the attendants. He’s trying to get better.Bryce scrapes his hooves. This is just a small setback.”

But Baker didn’t want to decide how many At-Bats Harper it would take to get back into shape.Nationals have only seven games left in the Regular Season before starting playoffs at Nationals Park next week.
