NBA: Anthem Dispute: Players must stand up

As in various US sports leagues, the behaviour of the American anthem also contains explosives in the NBA.As the league confirmed in a memo to all 30 teams on Friday evening, existing regulations stipulate that all players must be in front of the game during the national anthem. In the event of misconduct, the League reserves the right to punish the relevant professionals.

The NBA deputy director Mark Tatum’s memo stated that “the league will decide on possible measures if a player or coach does not stand up to the anthem”.Individual teams “would not have the freedom of choice to break this rule”.

For some time now, sports professionals have been kneeling down at the anthem in protest against racial discrimination and police violence in the USA.In addition, the superstars Stephen Curry of Champion Golden State Warriors and LeBron James of Vice Champion Cleveland Cavaliers with US President Donald Trump are clinching.

Curry had announced that he would not be attending the traditional reception at the White House.James even called Trump a bum.
