Boxing: Media: World Championship fight between Charr and Ustinow perfect
Heavyweight boxer Manuel Charr apparently only five months after his hip operation, he gets the chance to compete in a World Cup match.According to the Cologne Express, Charr will be on 25th September.November in the Oberhausen arena against the Russian Alexander Ustinov (40) in the Oberhausen arena to box the belt according to version of the WBA.The fight will be officially announced at a press conference in Cologne on Thursday.
“I don’t want to make too many promises, but we’re writing history,” Charr told the Express:”Five months after a hip surgery, a World Cup match – that hasn’t happened before.” The Diamond Boy had a new hip joint inserted on both sides.Two years ago, Charr had been seriously injured in an assassination attempt at a food stall in Essen with a shot to the stomach.
The fight became possible only because the World Cup match between US veteran Shannon Briggs (45) and Fres Oquendo (44) from Puerto Rico, scheduled for June, burst after Briggs was convicted of doping.
