NBA: Kleber shines in German duel
In the absence of most top performers, Maxi Kleber takes his chance and shows Atlanta an extremely strong game, the Mavericks win significantly. In the meantime, Milos Teodosic is once again distinguished in the Clippers’ victory over the Kings.
The journey to Atlanta was not started by all Mavericks – on the contrary. With Dirk Nowitzki, Wes Matthews, Harrison Barnes, J. J.Barea, Josh McRoberts, Devin Harris and Dorian Finney-Smith lacked a large part of the rotation players, Seth Curry is already injured.Accordingly, the others were given the chance to show themselves. And from a German point of view, this went well: hardly anyone took advantage of this opportunity better than Maxi Kleber.
The forward was allowed to enter the court for a total of 24 minutes from the bank and drew attention to himself: 16 points were put on Kleber, 6 of his 11 throws (4/8 3FG).In addition, he had 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal, his plus/minus rating was a strong +9 and was the third highest in the Mavs.Only Jeff Withey (+12) and top scorer Gian Clavell (+20), who scored 19 points, were better.
Nevertheless, there was a frightening second for the Mavs when top rookie Dennis Smith bent his ankle, but Rick Carlisle said afterwards that it was probably not so bad.Nevertheless, Smith was only used for a short time (13 minutes, 9 points).
On the other hand, this was also true for Dennis Schröder, who hadn’t had a good day anyway.Schröder scored 9 points in 18 minutes, but only scored two of his ten throws from the field.Hawks top scorer was Kent Bazemore with 20 points.

It’s a lot of fun to watch the clippers in this preseason, and there’s a reason for that: Milos Teodosic. As both Patrick Beverley and Austin Rivers stopped playing, the Serbian started against Sacramento and once again shone with his sugar passports. 8 points and 6 assists may not sound too spectacular, but it was Teodosic again who provided the highlight plays and put his fellow players to good use.
The main beneficiaries were Blake Griffin (18 points) and Wesley Johnson (16.4/4 3FG), while DeAndre Jordan scored his obligatory double-double (13.14 rebounds).Lou Williams (14) and Tyrone Wallace (16) from the bank also performed well.Sacramento were able to tighten up the match in the first half, but in the third quarter the Clippers finally pulled away.
Top scorer in the Kings was Zach Randolph with 14 points and Frank Mason, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Garrett Temple with 13 points each.No. 5-Pick De’ Aaron Fox was not used.
