Golf: US PGA Champion Thomas shines at Tour-Premiere in South Korea

US star Justin Thomas made a brilliant start at the premiere of the US tour in South Korea. The US PGA champion played a 63rd on the par-72 course on Jeju Island south of the Korean peninsula, three strokes ahead of a chasing quintet.

The 24-year-old from Kentucky, number four in the world, played two Eagles, seven birdies in just two bogeys.

Last October, the US tour announced that it will be stopping in South Korea for the first time in 2017. The event is endowed with 9.25 million dollars. German professionals are not in the 78-strong field.
