Boxing: USA fights on the horizon: Hammer wants to defend his title in Munich

Boxing world champion Christina Hammer is aiming for her next successful title defence on her way to the USA. On Saturday, the 27-year-old middleweight girl will meet Gifty Amanua Ankrah from Ghana in Munich.

WBC- and WBO-title holder Hammer has won all 21 pros (nine knockout) so far, after the coming fight the big fights are to rise overseas.

“I’ve always set my sights on the United States. Of course, that’s a big topic that many people talk about,”Hammer told SID:”But now I have to hit Gifty Amanua Ankrah first. I think step by step, fight for battle”. 2018 will see duels with the American Claressa Shields (22), world champion in super middleweight, among others.

Hammer is optimistic before the fight against the 36 years old African (seven victories, four defeats, one draw) and I am very well prepared. I know what I have to do. I’m in the ring in my field, and I feel very comfortable there,”said the favourite.
