Olympia 2018: Dahlmeier on the election of flag bearers:”Always a great honour”.

Double Olympic champion Laura Dahlmeier would very much like to lead the German team to the Olympic Stadium as flag bearer at the closing ceremony of the Winter Games in Pyeongchang.

“It is always a great honour to carry the flag for your own country. It doesn’t matter whether this is at an opening or closing ceremony,”said the biathlete to SID on Friday.

Due to her tight schedule – the 24-year-old had competed in six races in 13 days – Dahlmeier had not yet dealt with the topic “but”. I’ll be surprised. But when it does, I think it’s gonna be a great moment.”

Dahlmeier had triumphed in Pyeongchang in sprint and pursuit and then won bronze in the singles. In the relays, however, despite her own outstanding performances, she went out twice empty-handed. The German Olympic Sports Federation will announce on Saturday who will wear the German flag at the end on Sunday.
