NFL: Manziel continues to work on a comeback – wants to play without guarantees
Johnny Manziel desperately wants to get back to the NFL: The quarterback, who once had fallen out of favour in Cleveland and who has attracted attention over the past few years with scandals off the pitch, is now already talking to coaches – and wants to play for little money.
Information from NFL network insider Mike Garafolo is said to have contacted Manziel “several NFL head coaches” to find a way back into the NFL.
He does not want to impose any financial risks on a potentially interested franchise: Manziel has informed the teams via Twitter that he is prepared to do so without even signing a guaranteed dollar and at a minimum salary, should a team ask him to do so.
Teams will soon be able to convince themselves of Manziel’s athletic abilities in the Spring League as well. Manziel announced via Twitter that he will participate in the Spring League this year.
The Spring League consists of four teams and will be played from 28. March until 15. April in Austin, Texas for training sessions and games. Scouts can get a direct picture of the project on site.
“We are delighted to have such a dynamic player as Johnny Manziel in the Spring League,”said Brian Woods, Managing Director of Liga,”We believe that our platform is the perfect stage for Mr. “Manziel is here to advance his NFL comeback.”
The 25-year-old will be playing for the South Team in two games:
