MLB: Season off for Dodgers-Shortstop Corey Seager

The Los Angeles Dodgers will be without their shortstop Corey Seager for the rest of the season. The 24-year-old has to be operated due to a recurrence of an elbow injury.
“This is a big blow,” said Dodgers coach Dave Roberts. “It’s something he’s been dealing with over and over the years.” Seager was also disappointed: “I was pretty good at the beginning of the season, but this weekend I had some bad litters that irritated me”.
After the elbow was examined, Seager hoped for a simple inflammation, but an MRI examination revealed a worse ligament injury. Now the two-time All-Star and NL Rookie of the Year from 2016 has to undergo the so-called’Thommy John Surgery’ on Friday, which will put him out of action until the end of the year.
