NBA: LeBron and Curry: “Nobody wants to go to the White House”

At the press conference before Game 3, LeBron James and Stephen Curry showed unity on the question of whether the next champion would go to the White House. The reason for the discussions was Donald Trump’s approach with the Philadelphia Eagles, the current NFL champion.

“No matter who wins the show at the end: I’m sure no one wants an invitation,” LeBron James told reporters. “So neither Cleveland nor Golden State will visit the White House.”

Warrior star Stephen Curry agreed with his opponent on this issue. “I’m at LeBron,” he said. “Every team that wins a championship is in the fortunate position of being able to make a decision on its own, as we did last year.”

The reason for the new discussions is to be found in the NFL. After Trump invited the Super Bowl Champion, the Philadelphia Eagles, to join him, it seemed that most of the team would not show up. That’s why Trump withdrew his invitation.

LeBron James said: “People will always remember you as a champion – no matter if someone unloads you from his house. Winning a championship is much bigger than being invited to the White House, especially when he’s in it[Donald Trump].”
