NFL: DUI: Police Trouble for Cardinals Managing Director
Steve Keim was subpoenaed by police for an incident on July 4. The managing director of the Arizona Cardinals is said to have been behind the wheel under influence. This was confirmed by the police.
“We took note of the incident on Wednesday with Steve Keim,” the Cardinals explained in a statement. “He understands the seriousness of the situation and that his behavior is unacceptable and unexcusable.”
Keim was held up on Wednesday at a DUI (Driving Under Influence) police checkpoint between Dobson and Ocotillo. This was confirmed by police to KTAR News 92.3.
“Steve immediately informed the team about the incident,” the statement continues. “The NFL has been informed and we continue to try to collect information to deal with the situation in accordance with the Statutes of the League.”
Keim has been part of the franchise since 1999. In 2013 he was promoted to Managing Director. He also apologized in the statement as follows:
“I deeply regret my bad decision and the unexcusable actions. Each person related to the NFL is responsible for acting appropriately and in accordance with the high standards of the League. That is not what I have done. I sincerely apologize to the fans and my family for that. I take full responsibility for my actions and will ensure that I never put myself or the Cardinals in such a situation again.”
