NBA: Grizzlies probably talk to Joakim Noah

Does Joakim Noah get another chance in the NBA? The Frenchman, who was dismissed by the New York Knicks during the off-season, is said to be in talks with the Memphis Grizzlies, according to media reports.

That’s what Marc Stein from The New York Times reports. Accordingly, both parties should be in “intensive talks” about a possible engagement of the Frenchman in Memphis.

The 33-year-old was last dismissed by the New York Knicks, although he still had two years contract in the Big Apple. In the summer of 2016, Noah signed a $72 million four-year contract with the Knicks, but played just 53 games, in which he played 5.0 points and 8.8 rebounds on average.

The Grizzlies still have a free roster spot after the release of Guard Andrew Harrison and this is rumored to be filled up with an experienced Big. But since the Grizzlies have given their complete mid-level exception to Kyle Anderson and operate close to the luxury tax limit anyway, Memphis could only offer the Frenchman a contract at the veteran minimum.
