NFL: After bankruptcy series: Jaguars fire OC

The Jacksonville Jaguars have fired offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. This was officially announced by the team on Monday. The Jaguars had recently lost seven games in a row, scoring less than 18 points on average.

Due to the 21:24 bankruptcy on Sunday the Jaguars now have a 3-8 balance and little hope to reach the playoffs. Last year, they were still in the AFC Championship Game, also because Hackett had put down a remarkable performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Divisional Game with his Offense.

“We would like to thank Nathaniel for his hard work and dedication to the Jaguars organisation and wish him and his family all the best for the future,” Head Coach Doug Marrone said in a team statement.

“There will always be tough decisions, but as head coach I have to do what I think is best for this football team,” Marrone justified the decision.

Hackett had been in office since 2016 and had previously worked as quarterback coach for the Jaguars for a year. Jacksonville was the third NFL organization after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Buffalo Bills for which Hackett had previously worked.
