NFL: Brady and Philip set new records

Tom Brady has secured another NFL milestone in his New England Patriots game for the New York Jets. The Quaterback broke the pass yards of his long-time rival Peyton Manning. Chargers-QB Philip Rivers also set a new record.

With the 27:13 victory of the Patriots against the Jets Brady broke through the sound barrier of 79,280 Pass Yards (Regular Season and Playoffs together) by 283 Yards space gain. With this he broke the record of Peyton Manning, who had 79,279 pass yards in his career. The 41-year-old Brady brought a total of 20 out of 31 passes to his teammates.

If you only count the Pass Yards from the Regular Season, Brady takes fourth place. In front of him are Drew Brees, Manning and Brett Favre.

Philip Rivers, quarterback of the Los Angeles Chargers, also set an NFL record on Monday night. His first 25 passes in the 45-10 win over the Arizona Cardinals all went to the recipient. It’s never been done before. So far Mark Brunell has held the record for the longest series of its kind. In the Washington Redskins’ game against Houston Texans twelve years ago, he scored 22 clear passes in a row.

Although a quarterback before Rivers managed the feat of selling 25 passes in a row, Ryan Tannehill of the Miami Dolphins needed two games in 2015.
