Boxing: Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder: Press conference ends with fisticuffs

The press conference before the duel between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder has ended in violence. Security guards had to separate the two boxers, and the two teams also clashed.

On stage in Los Angeles there was a wild mess for about a minute. Staff tried to get the two fighters out of the hall, while their coaches and comrades-in-arms were also engaged in a physical confrontation. According to current information, however, nobody was injured.

When it came to the traditional face-off, both stars screamed at each other. Fury knocked Wild’s right arm aside, pushing his opposite. Promoter Frank Warren wanted to intervene, but was powerless between the two heavyweights. Fury tore off his jacket and T-shirt and took a boxing position. But there was no exchange of blows.

“He seems very nervous. I certainly didn’t start this. His team was nervous and tense because we know he will lose,” Fury said after he was brought out of the hall. The 30-year-old himself was “totally relaxed”: “I’m going to punch him in the face until he looks like the clown he is.”

The fight between Wilder and Fury will take place on December 1st at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Due to the time difference, the fight in Germany will only start on 2 December at around 3 a.m. CET. The fight can be seen in full length exclusively on the DAZN streaming portal.
