NBA: Embiid and Simmons rave about Butler

Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons believe that Jimmy Butler will harmonize well with the Philadelphia 76ers. This was recently traded to Philly by the Minnesota Timberwolves along with Justin Patton for Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Jerryd Bayless and a two lap pick from 2022.

According to ESPN, Embiid talked to Butler’s former teammates Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrews Wiggens about his new team-mate. “They believe he’ll be good for us and we’ll get along. He wants to win. Wiggs told me that he thinks we will definitely win the East,” said the Big Man.

Embiid doesn’t seem to have a personal relationship with Butler yet, but this is about to change. Already Saturday night he allegedly wrote to the 29-year-old. Butler has forced his departure from the Timberwolves, after weeks of discussions a deal has now been found.

Ben Simmons is supposed to have talked to him Saturday. After the interview, he would be sure that Butler would fit in perfectly with the team and help the Sixers win. The current balance of the 76 is 8-6 and still expandable for a Contender in the east.

“He said he just wanted to win,” Simmons explained. A statement that the sophomore seems to be very pleased about: “I believe that this is the mindset that we all have. We’re excited to integrate Jimmy here.”

But both seem somewhat depressed about the exits of Saric, Covington and Bayless. “There’s also a sad side to it,” said the 22-year-old. “I miss Dario and Cov. I almost cried,” Embiid said.

“But it’s a business. You have to move on. I love the boys and wish them luck. I will also stay in touch with them,” the 24-year-old center assured.

On the integration of the All-Star, Simmons said, “A guy like him who can come in and score can lead with his experience – he’ll fit in here. Our culture is winning, playing together as a team and acting hard. I think he’s bringing all that.”

Embiid added: “I believe he will help us both offensively and defensively guaranteed. He’s one of the best defenders in the league. I’m looking forward to seeing where it takes us and how much better we’ll look.”

In addition, both 76ers’ star players are not worried about whether their reputation or playing style will change. They are confident enough to deal with the situation and believe in their abilities.
