NBA: Howard drops out long after buttock surgery

The Washington Wizards have to give up Dwight Howard for a long time. The center has already been operated on the buttocks and the wizards will miss it for several months.

The wizards announced this in a statement, the center is to be re-examined in two to three months. After all, the operation was a success.

Howard had been plagued with back pain throughout the season and decided to have two lumbar vertebrae treated. In total, the centre has already missed 12 of the 21 games of the season to date, most recently against Portland Trail Blazers on 21 November.

For the eightfold All-Star Thomas Bryant will now give the starting center of the Wizards. Howard did not sign a two-year contract for a total of $11 million in Washington until the summer after the Brooklyn Nets dismissed him. In this season, the Big has so far scored 12.8 points and 9.2 rebounds, both Career Lows for the former Defensive Player of the Year.
