Date for NHL restart apparently fixed
The NHL is supposed to have a restart date for the season that was interrupted because of the corona crisis. The champions will then be determined in playoffs at two venues.
The season in the NHL, which was interrupted in March due to the corona crisis, is to be continued on July 30.
This is reported by the New York Post.
According to the report, 24 teams will play in extended playoffs at two venues (“Hub Cities”), which will be published next week.
Training camp in the NHL from 10 July
From July 10th, all teams will have a two-week training camp as “phase three” of their re-entry, after which the teams will travel to their “hub city”, where each team will play a preparation game.
From the training camp onwards, a strict security concept with daily tests as far as possible will be in place.
For about two weeks, the clubs have been allowed to train in small groups of a maximum of six people in the franchises’ training halls as “phase two”. “Phase four” is the restart, in “phase one” the league had recommended to prepare in isolation.
