Basketball: Alba Berlin says goodbye to the EuroCup with victory

Basketball Bundesliga club Alba Berlin has said goodbye to the EuroCup with a victory. The team of coach Aito Garcia Reneses won the top 16 at Galatasaray Istanbul with 97:92 (45:39).

Even before the meaningless game against the Turks, Alba had been unable to make it into the quarter-finals. Best thrower at Alba was Marius Grigonis with 20 points.

The only German club in the quarter-finals is Bundesliga leader Bayern Munich. With a record of two wins and four defeats, Berlin finished third in the standings of Group E, Darüssafaka/Turkey and Gran Canaria Las Palmas were already qualified for the final eight on Wednesday before their final duel.
