Isaiah Thomas and Rajon Rondo were both ejected in the New Orleans pelicans’ game against the Los Angeles Lakers at the end of the first quarter after a heated clash. Thomas did not understand this at all and said that he did not deserve to be expelled.
The New Laker accused Rondo, on the other hand, who according to IT had played him too physically. Thomas just wanted to defend himself:"He was far too aggressive, for whatever reason," the Guard complained to Laker’s nation after the game,"he punched me in the face three times in the game. At some point I realized that no one was protecting me, so I took over."
Shortly before the end of the first quarter, the referees had seen enough and threw the two squabblers out of the game, which caused Thomas to get upset "I hope that the NBA will make a difference. It was not right to expel me from the field. I just want to play basketball and get to know my new teammates better."
The incident with Rondo has a background story. Rondo, who played for the Boston Celtics between 2006 and 2014, was probably still angry that Thomas wanted a video tribute during Paul Pierce’s Jersey Retirement. The story finally disappeared into thin air as the Cleveland Cavaliers, who played against Celtics that night, previously traded Thomas with the Lakers.
"He put this on the table," Thomas said angrily."For whatever reason, he still seems pissed at me, but that’s fine. I can’t control it anyway. Actually, I said I don’t want to have a video for Paul Pierce that day."
For Thomas it’s done, the Guard prefers to look to the future:"I’m a laker now and want to help the team win games" Thomas finished the game with 3 points and 2 assists.
