NBA: Free Agency?

Klay Thompson will become a Free Agent in the summer of 2019 and is already considered one of the most sought-after players. Among other things, the Clippers and Lakers are said to be interested, especially since Thompson comes from Los Angeles. But the shooting guard himself has other plans.

When asked by the San Jose Mercury News whether he wanted to extend in 2019 in Golden State,”Thompson” replied absolutely. Playing the whole career with a team is something special. Only a few people in professional sport have managed to do that at all, so this is one of my goals. I hope it all works out.”

Thompson already noticed in the summer that he could imagine granting the Warriors a discount, as Kevin Durant did in the summer. He did not want to comment on this, but said:”That is still so far away. Anything I can do to stay with the warriors, I’ll do. It will happen, God willing. If not, I don’t even think about it.”

When the Warriors committed Durant in 2016, it was assumed that Thompson in particular would have to sacrifice some things, but this has not happened yet. Thompson will be competing in the All-Star Game for the fourth time this weekend, his efficiency is better than ever – currently he is even leading the league in the three-way ratio (45.5 percent).

The fact that in public perception he is often only the fourth violin of the Warriors after Durant, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green doesn’t bother him in the slightest:”The realization that you can’t do anything completely on your own is the first step to success,”Thompson described his own philosophy.
