Olympia 2018: Shairer after his heavy fall:”Will embrace my family”.

Snowboard Crosser Markus Schairer spoke of “happiness in misfortune”at the Wonju hospital. According to the first diagnosis, however, he is stable “He may start his journey home on Saturday and is transferred directly to the Feldkirch regional hospital. An operation may be necessary and everything will be stabilized with a plate.

Schairer received a visit from his team-mates on Friday and said,”I am extremely happy to be home tomorrow. It’s not so great to be in a country where you don’t speak the language. You can’t communicate properly in English either.”

From the fall he remembers that the exit in the air felt like ten minutes “I thought about some things. After I got back on my feet, I thought that I had a real, real pig:” He didn’t know from which emotion he was going to the finish line on his own,”That was certainly not the smartest idea, but it just happened:” Instead of taking the helicopter to the hospital by car, it was a bad idea. Everything had gone smoothly in the hospital itself.

Commenting on the Olympic course, he said:”At the Olympics in particular, people want to move faster, higher and further. There’s a massive piece here. Drivers warned that the jumps would sooner or later go too far,” but at the Olympics they don’t retreat. It is completely unclear how everything will continue with him. The first checkpoint he wants to reach is to be back on his feet soon.”And hug my family at home.”
