Hardly anyone had thought that Germany’s national ice hockey team would be able to claim a victory over Canada. After all, the North Americans are record Olympic gold medallists and, despite the absence of the NHL stars, are packed with top players. But coach Marco Sturm’s team surprised all the doubters and knocked out Canada in a brilliant game.

David Wolf could not continue playing after a bad attack and threatens to fail for the final game.
In the final period, however, the big flutter of nerves started, Canada came up to a goal before the match was over and Germany won 4-3. In the finals, the Olympic athletes from Russia will now face off against the Czech Republic 3-0.
If you want to see the historic final duel, you have to get up early in Germany – or stay awake for a long time. The Olympic finals will take place on Sunday night at 5.10 a. m. German time. Before that, the German games always started at 1.10 pm.
