MLB: Tampa Bay Rays – Care for top prospect Brent Honeywell

Tampa Bay Rays are worried about their top pitching prospect Brent Honeywell. The right-handed person had to abort a batting practice session on Thursday and, according to the team, contracted a compression of his forearm.

The 22-year-old was injured, while for the first time this year he had fought batting practice against major league hitter.

Manager Kevin Cash avoided speculation about the severity of the injury, but said Honeywell was going to be tested further,”It’s frustrating whether he’s going to miss a week, a month or whatever,”Cash says.

Honeywell is considered one of the top pitching talents in the MLB and ranks eighteenth in the Major League Prospects according to the MLB Pipeline. He was the MVP of the All-Star Futures Game 2017 and was 12-8 with a 3.64 ERA over 24 starts for Triple-A Durham.
