The Philadelphia 76ers have surprised in Cleveland and LeBron James and Co. I was beaten. The Los Angeles Lakers also celebrated a victory in Miami. The Sacramento Kings win a dramatic game after extra time while the Blazers fought down Minnesota.
The Lakers haven’t given up their season yet, as Isaiah Thomas made it clear once again on South Beach. Little Guard scored 29 points (11/20 FG, 6/11 threesomes) and 6 assists as Sixth Man and said after the game that he hasn’t written off the playoffs yet:”I think this team wants to win, we have the talent,”IT reported.
“We have to think about the next step and that’s getting the playoffs” This should be a little too much, the gap to eighth place is still 6 games after the success in Miami. But this one was promising. The guests gave the Heat a record 131 points for the season, scoring almost 60 percent from the peloton and 55.2 percent from downtown (16/29 threesomes).
“We are much better than we showed today,”said a disillusioned heat coach Erik Spoelstra. After Miami had countered an early run of the Lakers in the first quarter, the guests scored 21 of the next 25 points, from which Miami did not recover. At 40:26, the Heat lost the second quarter and Goran Dragic (19) found out:”They overrun us.”
Best scorer Miamis was Dwyane Wade with 25 points (11/18 FG) coming from the bank, in addition Bam Adebayo (15.10 rebounds) played a double-double as a reservist. For the Lakers, Thomas Julius Randle (25) and Brandon Ingram (19.5 rebounds, 5 assists) were convincing. The two rookies Lonzo Ball (8.3/5 FG, 7 Assists, 6 Steals) and Kyle Kuzma (16) also contributed to the success.
Statement victory for the Sixers, who almost lost a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter in the lion’s den, but then decided the game for themselves. The Cavs didn’t lead at any point in the game, but a 3 from Kyle Korver at 2’25 “on the clock made it even more exciting (94:95).
But the Sixers stayed cool and set an 8-0 run, which was too much for the Cavs. A step-back-jumper by Joel Embiid to the 100:94 for the Sixers was finally the dagger. The incarnate trial also dominated Cleveland and delivered 17 points (7/18 FG), 14 rebounds and 6 assists. The Cameroonian was supported by Ben Simmons, who with 18 points (8/14 FG), 9 rebounds and 8 assists also played a nice statline.
Ersan Ilyasova also made his debut for the Sixers and scored 6 points in 18 minutes. The cavs lacked J. R. Smith, who was suspended from the team for this match after an incident during training. Rodney Hood (11.5/14 FG) started for him, but he had little luck with his cast. The main burden was once again carried by LeBron James, who scored 30 points (12/24 FG), 9 rebounds and 8 assists.
It became controversial again in the last few seconds, when Dario Saric (10,10 Rebounds) scored the spalding, although the game was already decided. Jordan Clarkson (10) did not like this at all and so the Guard threw the ball after the Croatian. In return, the ex-laker received an ejection.
