Boxing: Bösel new European Champion in the light heavyweight category

Professional boxer Dominic Bösel is the new European heavyweight champion. The 28-year-old defeated the Ukrainian-born Italian Sergei Demchenko (38) unanimously on Saturday in Weißenfels on points.

Bösel secured the previously vacant European Championship title at the second attempt, after losing his first title fight against the Berlin Karo Murat in July 2017. Bösel now stands at 26 victories (a defeat) from 27 professional fights.
