The Arizona Diamondbacks beat Colorado Rockies in the National League Wild Card Game 11:8 to qualify for the NL Division Series. After the snakes had taken a clear lead early on, the guests shortened more and more until a relief pitcher surprised everyone on the record. The Diamondbacks ultimately won the game with impressive dynamics.
The Diamondbacks got off to a perfect start.Starter Zack Greinke pitched a quick first inning and Arizona’s superstar Paul Goldschmidt took the lead with a 3-run homerun. The D-backs then kept their foot on the gas, rockies starter Jon Gray kicked out of the match in the second inning and after three frames, they led with 6:0.
After that, however, the rockies’ clubs also woke up.The guests scored four runs in the fourth inning and finished Greinkes evening earlier than planned. The Rockies finally came back to 6-5, but were surprised by relief pitcher Archie Bradley, who extended the tight lead with a 2-run triple in the seventh inning. However, he himself gave away two home runs after that, so it became exciting again in the eighth section.
Another RBI triple, this time by A. J.Pollock, but then put the lid on it for Arizona, which took the Rockies out of the sails for good. The Diamondbacks will meet the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS, which starts on Friday.
NL Wild Card Game: Arizona Diamondbacks – Colorado Rockies 11:8 BOXSCORE

As in the AL Wild Card Game, none of the starting pitcher’s were convincing in the NL.Both of them made four runs, even though Greinke (3 2/3 IP, 6 H, 4 ER) made it into the fourth inning at least.Once again the Bullpens were in focus and the one of the Diamondbacks did the better job.Even though the Rockies pushed hard at the very end, the Snakes-Relievers held the tight lead until the end.
The Rockies were digging a hole early on and were now even trailing 0:6.But thanks to their four runs in the fourth inning, there was still hope. After a crazy seventh inning, Arizona was 8:7 for Arizona, but in the eighth, they managed to win the match with three more runs. After that, the air was out.
