NBA: Brandon Ingram lacks the Los Angeles Lakers for at least a week

The Los Angeles Lakers have to give up Brandon Ingram for several games. An MRI of the youngster showed a groin strain.

Ingram injured himself last Friday in the game against Miami Heat. Now there are the results of an MRI examination that revealed a strain on the groin. A worse injury had previously been feared.

“I’m glad that it didn’t turn out any worse,”Ingram said happily,”I was hit hard on the spot and had problems there before. That’s what I was worried about.”

Ingram will be missing from the Lakers at least for the games against Portland, Denver and Orlando. Against the Cavs on Monday, coach Luke Walton hasn’t written him off completely yet, but he doesn’t want to rush into anything.

Ingram is in his second NBA season and scores well with 16.2 points and 5.4 rebounds.
