NFL: Rams trades Alec Ogletree to the New York Giants

The Los Angeles Rams remain one of the most active teams of this off-season: L. A. tradete on Wednesday evening linebacker Alec Ogletree traded to the New York Giants – and thus creates further financial leeway.

According to information from NFL network insider Ian Rapoport, the Giants 2018s will pay for the linebacker’s fourth- and six-round picks. In addition to Ogletree, the Rams send a seven-round pick to New York in the 2019 draft.

The Giants had constantly ignored the linebacker position under their former regime and valued little; the new team boss Dave Gettleman seems to think in a different direction. Ogletree, even if he definitely doesn’t belong to the linebacker elite circle and still too often misreads or overreacts with his explosiveness to false reads, is an immediate upgrade for the G-Men.

Due to the departure of Ogletree, who signed a four-year contract in L. A. only six months ago. the Rams are now winning ten million dollars in Cap Space.

This gives the team important room for manoeuvre just before the start of the Free Agency: After Safety Lamarcus Joyner has received the Franchise Day, L. A. could become a member of the team. is now making a new contract for Sammy Watkins – while at the same time the presumed mega deal for Aaron Donald on the horizon is getting bigger and bigger.
