NFL: Ex-Vikings quarterback Case Keenum goes to Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos have apparently found a new quarterback. According to a media report, Case Keenum will sign a long-term contract in Colorado on Wednesday at the start of the new league year. This makes it the first of the top QBs to be taken off the market.

As reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN, both sides agree. However, the details of the contract are not yet known.

The Broncos are effectively out of the race for ex-Redskins-Quarterback Kirk Cousins, who are still competing for the New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals and Minnesota Vikings, Keenum’s ex-team. Rumor has it that the Broncos were also interested in Teddy Bridgewater.

For Keenum, the Broncos are his fourth station in the NFL. He began his career at Houston Texans in 2012, then went to the Rams during the 2014 season and then went on to work in St. Paul’s. Louis 2015 as well as in Los Angeles 2016 a few starts before the Vikings in 2017.

In Minnesota he took over for the injured Sam Bradford, tossed in 15 games (14 starts) for 3547 yards and 22 touchdowns (7 INT). He also led the team into the NFC Championship game, which was eventually lost to the Philadelphia Eagles.
