MLB: 2018 Season Previews – National League East: Applause out?

There can only be one clear favourite in the National League East. But at the Washington Nationals the question arises how the probably last year of superstar Bryce Harper will end – with applause or shame? Behind it, the young savages could cause a furore.

) Supertalent Ronald Acuna is expected to take over the Left Field early in the season.

With Ronald Acuna, a possible talent of the century is in the starting blocks, but due to financial considerations is not expected until mid-April in the majors. In general, the team looks good and consists mainly of young savages who can cause a furore. If Acuna takes the lead and young pitcher like Julio Teheran or Mike Foltynewicz stabilize, then Atlanta could have a wild card in it. But even if not, there should be a positive balance sheet, which would undoubtedly be a success.

Above all Foltynewicz fluctuated tremendously in his performances last year. If he and his colleagues can’t get a grip on this, it won’t be enough for the Braves. It also remains to be seen whether the offense will bring enough firepower to stand up to the strong pitching teams of the direct competition.

Forecast: 3rd place in NL East.
