NFL: EQ St. Brown before draft: “A Pocket Passer like Tom Brady would be cool”

Before NFL Draft 2018 (Friday, 2am live on DAZN), Equanimeous St. Brown spoke about his expectations for his upcoming entry into the NFL. The German wide receiver revealed which teams he had been in contact with so far and also has a clear preference for his future quarterback.

After three eventful years at Notre Dame College, “EQ” registered St. Brown for the draft. In an interview with Sport1, the German-American revealed in advance that he was in contact with several teams around the Combine: “On site in Indianapolis I had individual talks with the Bills, Cardinals, Colts, 49ers, Texans and Saints. After that, I met with the cowboys at Pro Day in college and again with the Saints.”

St. Brown also spent two days with the Chicago Bears. “These conversations are all about testing your football IQ. You have to record and explain moves or explain them in videos. They also ask you a few personal questions, for example about your family,” St. Brown gave an insight into the meetings.

About his expectations for the draft day, St. Brown said: “Of course, it would be best to join a top team as early as possible,” he revealed with a wink. “You never know beforehand in the draft what is the priority of the teams and what they urgently need or want at that moment. In my field in particular, it is very difficult to predict anything. In the end, I’m happy when my name is mentioned and I’ll be very grateful to the team for the opportunity.”

However, the former receiver of the Fighting Irish has one concrete wish: “As far as the teams are concerned, I am completely open. My wish would be a really good pocket register as quarterback, like Tom Brady. That would be cool,” says St. Brown.
