MLB: Shohei Ohtani injured his ankle against New York Yankees

Shohei Ohtani sustained ankle injury Friday night against the New York Yankees. The star of the Los Angeles Angels had to leave the field in the seventh inning with aching left leg.

In his short MLB career, Ohtani has already attracted attention more often with minor wounds. Shortly after signing his contract with the Angels, the Japanese man was given a plasma injection to get a sprain on his right elbow under control.

A few weeks ago he had to stop a start on the mound with bubbles on his throwing hand early. The Angels will decide at short notice about a possible deployment of Ohtani on Saturday. His next appearance as pitcher is scheduled for Tuesday (home game against the Baltimore Orioles).

In the game against the Yankees, Ohtani made a home run in his first At-Bat, but the Angels lost the game after an extra inning 3-4.
