NBA: LeBron admits: “One of the hardest defeats of my career”

LeBron James reviewed Game 1 of the finals against the Golden State Warriors and declared that it was one of the hardest defeats of his career. He also gave an update on his damaged eye.

“It was one of the hardest defeats of my career,” James said at a Saturday night press conference on Game 1, “Because the way the game went and the way we played it is hard to digest. His team had lost 114:124 after losing a big chance of victory in the regular season.

That’s why the 24 hours after the game was “not only for me and George Hill[he had given away the possibly winning free-throw], but for our whole club very hard. Because we had done everything we could to put ourselves in a good starting position.”

James now emphasized, however, that this must be checked off with the tip-off to game 2. He led the team on Saturday and set a good example with intensive training. “Now it’s a new situation. I woke up this morning feeling very good. I’m really looking forward to the next game. “You should be happy about the opportunity to correct your defeat by playing a little better.”

His damaged left eye, however, does not pose any danger of being used. He’d taken a hit from Draymond Green there. A strong reddening was the result.

“It doesn’t look any better,” explained LeBron, “but the doctors told me that it still got better. I take the resources given to me now, that’s all I can do. After all, it’s the eye that takes time. “I can’t refrigerate it or anything to speed it up.”
