NBA: Kobe about LeBron: “There’s no point in complaining”

Kobe Bryant has commented on the situation of LeBron James and advised him to focus on winning championships – that’s what the Black Mamba says. He also compared James’ situation with his own at the Lakers 2010.

Bryant explained in an interview with Bleacher Report: “Even as a child I only looked to win championships. Then I rated Michael Jordan, Larry Bird or Magic Johnson. Things are now also being assessed from other points of view. That’s okay – but I’ll tell you how I rate them.”

So he had some advice for LeBron James: “If I were him, I would find a way to win. It’s not about the story. You want to win championships, so find out how to do it best.”

Bryant also compared the situation of James and the current Cavs with his 2010 Lakers when he had to face Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen in the Celtics finals against the “first super team”.

At the time, Bryant resorted to the advice of Michael Jordan, who told him: “There’s no point in complaining about it. You have to find a way to beat her. There is no alternative. And I think that LeBron is in this situation too – making excuses doesn’t work.”

James and the Cavaliers had lost the finals against the Warriors for the third time in four years. Kobe won the 2010 finals against Celtics – especially in Game 7 but also had top-class support from Pau Gasol or Ron Artest. The Mamba herself only hit 6/24 throws in the decisive game 7.
